I just found this website and honestly i think it is truly amazing.
If you are a sword collector, i mean a real one, someone that is interested by the history behind swords of the various ages, you will love this.
The “Sword Forum International” was originally founded in 1998. The goal of this sword website or should i say community is to inform and promote history through the study of swords & swordsmanship. The quantity of information that can be found on this website is just staggering. Their articles are very well written, interesting and well documented.
If you are looking to learn more about swords, i would say this is a very good place to be.
Here is just a sample of what you can find on this website:
- the Museum store
- Various specialized departments (Military, Japanese, Chinese etc…)
- Resources
- Forum
- and much more
Go take a look and don’t forget to leave your comments

Paul Chen
Before talking more about this Sword designer it is important to differentiate the terms used to identify Paul Chen swords.
Often you will find people calling Paul Chen swords: Hanwei sword, Cas\Iberia swords or some sort of combination of those two.
Let me make everything clear for you.
Hanwei is the Company created by Paul Chen (Mr. Chen Chao-Po), originally in Taiwan in the early 90’s. This is why most people refer to Hanwei swords as Paul Chne swords.
Cas Iberia is a company that was bought by Hanwei, it is entirely responsible for distributing all Hanwei swords in the United States.
OK now that we have established the difference between these terms, let`s talk a little bit more about it creation.
Hanwei was probably amongst the first companies to produce quality and attractive swords at affordable prices. Since then they have grown to what may be one of the biggest maker of swords in the industry. Their Dalian Facility in China employ around 350 employees.
The company started making Japanese swords but has now expanded their product line to add European designs.
Where to buy them?
The prices of Paul Chen swords tend to vary a lot online, the hard part is to find a reseller that do business with a distributor that maintain a high level of quality control and customer service.
After doing some research online, and because i have also bought a couple of Paul Chen swords, the only place a truly recommend is to shop at www.DarkSteelReplica.com They have a huge selection of Paul Chen swords and they are entirely dedicated to giving you the best service available.
